Array I can cut his fingernails one day and 2 days later his hands look like garden rakes again, but his toe nails seem to never grow.3. Banjo has at least 4 poopy nappies a day and the first one of the day (always coming between 8 and 9 in the morning) requires a semi-trailer to tow it to the bin.4. I am pumping 120ml (4oz.) from each breast these days, and Banjo feeds from both at each feed. If you then consider that he feeds about 8 times a day, you realise that he’s getting about 2L (give or take a bit) of milk each day!!

he seemed slightly uncomfortable while sitting with me on the sofa, and i totally called him on it this morning via email. which is funny, cause SD finally emailed me back this morning, a week after i emailed him with a question. today i mailed SD all the letters and notes and cards he’d written for me over the last year, because i had found them over the weekend and forced myself to read them. i rolled up the most important one and put it thru the center of the ring he gave me as a placeholder for my diamond. so i sent it to him, along with all those letters and cards, along with a letter i wrote to him this morning. i’m condo-sitting in the same city he lives in today thru friday, i’m gonna try to get him to come over tomorrow to watch porn on chris’ motherfucking HUGE television.

Where’s Your Brain?: Springfield Is A Little Safer Now

I first saw Palanivel (name changed) a full day after I was supposed to see him. Not that I knew I was supposed to see him, that first day. This man is the local union councillor in a small village called Naluvedapathy, about 15 km north of Vedaraniyam. That first day I am talking about, we turned up at a small community hall in the neighbouring village, Pushpavanam, for a function to distribute nets to 18 fishermen from the area. They had, of course, lost their nets 6 months ago, to the tsunami. So we get to the hall. Several women are waiting for us, greet us warmly and give us water and biscuits. Someone hurries in with a list of the beneficiaries. An executive from the Bangalore-based company that bought the nets is here as well, to formally hand them over. The nets, or at least a few of them, are here too. So why don’t we start? We wait. And wait. None of the beneficiaries is here. The list-carrier, Balamurali, is dispatched to get them. He returns trailing one – a shyly smiling 50-year-old called Vadivel – in his wake. No others. We wait some more. Another two fishermen trickle in; one of them, I notice idly, is limping slightly because he is missing a toe on his left foot. We wait on. It’s hot, the executive has to get back to Bangalore and is getting worried … what’s going on? Eventually, the function gets off the ground. The executive hands over nets to these three beneficiaries, and Balamurali is instructed to go from house to house tomorrow and give away the others. The fishermen look pleased, one of the woman makes a short speech in formal Tamil, and we disperse. The executive gets into his car, waves, and is off.The next morning, we go to the panchayat office in Naluvedapathy. Why? For the net-distribution function. But didn’t we do it yesterday? Well yes, but councillor Palanivel was to have presided, and didn’t show up – which is why the long delay. (I had no idea that was the reason). It turns out that the councillor had insisted that he would decide who would get the nets; so he submitted a list of 14 fishermen to Balamurali and the Bangalore company. Someone – I was unable to figure out who – had added four names to the list, among whom were two men Palanivel didn’t like, which got him annoyed. This was why, or at least we had to presume this was why, he didn’t show up yesterday. But today, he has sent a message that he wants to do the function over, and to preside. Even if the executive is not here. And since you have to keep on the good side of these men, the function will happen again. So here we are. Vadivel, the man with the missing toe, and the third fishermen from yesterday, are all here. Balamurali is here with his list. The nets are here. A shiny Ambassador with a red and black AIADMK flag drives up, and Palanivel gets out of it. I have to tell you, and forgive me my stereotypes, that this man is the picture of a Tamil politician: enormous handlebar moustache, white veshti with two stripes in red and black, white shirt, a green and blue shawl thrown over one shoulder, silver pen in his pocket, gold watch with three mini-dials on his wrist, cellphone in his hand, and – yes – photo of Jayalalithaa in his shirt pocket, the formidable visage visible formidably through the cloth. He folds his hands to everyone around. Speaking to one of my colleagues on this trip, he offers a quick rundown of his political career. I hear him saying with a huge smile, Amma chose me personally for that election

Tuesday July 12, 2005 The Associated Press - By Yahya Barzanji KHUNERA, Iraq (AP) - In the jagged mountains here along the Iranian border, a leader of the Kurdish rebels who have been battling Turkish soldiers for two decades vowed to keep up his fight until Turkey agrees to open a dialogue with militants. But it is a call that Turkey refuses, saying all the guerrillas of the Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, must surrender or die. Recently, the fighting has intensified.Since May, 30 soldiers and 24 rebels have been killed as the rebels stepped up attacks, concentrating more on bombings than direct assaults. On Sunday, a bomb planted by a rebel splinter group injured 18 Turks and three tourists in Cesme, a popular Turkish resort.[Shahin warned, We may turn our attention to the tourism sector and said, In this respect the attitude of the Turkish government is important. We did not come up with such a plan instantly. Quite the contrary our wish is to see Turkey with a strong economy, which in a way which benefits her people and serving peace and the democratic future of Turkey. However, unfortunately Turkish leaders are using economic sources for the continuation of this dirty war. On one side there are millions of people who live under the hunger level on the other hand the Turkish government are spending billions to deny, eradicate and oppress the Kurdish people, instead they should use this economy for their people’s happiness and comfort. In the name of humanity, no one should be silence to this. For this reason, whoever calls themselves human should raise their voices. Democratic public opinion should take a stand on this HPG: Kurds are not the ones who wants war]Both sides are looking to Washington to help create a solution to a two-decade fight that has left some 37,000 people dead and parts of southeastern Turkey in ruins.Turkish generals say the United States, which controls Iraq, must do more to stop rebels from crossing the border and carrying out attacks.Murat Karayilan, the military leader of the PKK, says that Washington, which is pressing for more democracy in the Middle East, must allow the Kurds a voice and vows to keep fighting on.We seek peace, but Turkey seeks war and wants our surrender, he said in an interview with The Associated Press It wants to get rid of us entirely. The Kurds resistance will continue.”He also said that the rebels, who were once fighting for a Marxist Kurdish state in the southeast of Turkey, now want to be part of a democracy.”We want to live in a democratic way and establish a democratic Kurdish movement while giving up extremist socialist ideas,” Karayilan said. “We also notice a change in American policies, which now support democratic governments. America came to change the Middle East, and Kurds have a great role in this matter.”Turkish officials have dismissed that claim as a mere change in tactics by the group, which the Turkish government and the United States consider a terrorist organization.Turkish land forces commander Gen. Yasar Buyukanit recently rebuffed a suggestion that the army end its offensive against the rebels.”In Turkey, no one in their right mind could say yes” to that request, the Cumhuriyet newspaper quoted Gen. Yasar Buyukanit as saying last month. “Our struggle against terrorism is continuing and will continue.”[ "Human-rights groups are also demanding an investigation into the possibility that the remains belong to guerrillas who may have been caught alive and later shot in the head and beheaded to hide evidence of executions."Turkey urged to ID mass grave bodies]Turkey considers all of its Muslim citizens to be Turks and has rejected Kurdish aspirations as an attempt to break apart the country. It was illegal in Turkey to speak Kurdish until 1991, and broadcasting in Kurdish only began in 2004.[”The campaign I demand education in mother tongue was launched in Turkeys 81 provinces on June 1, with demand of education in mother tongue, aiming to make those issues of the Constitution which hinder education and training in mother be abolished

-ne Springfield, OR is minus a dangerous criminal - a criminal that had no problem stealing vehicles, no problem breaking into the security of a private residence to burglarize, no problem stealing mail, no problem starting fires. The fact that Jason was 15 years old matters not - younger thugs carry guns and have no problems using them, especially now that the Supreme Court ruled that anyone under 18 could not receive the death penalty - they know they will get out and never serve their full sentence. There are the usual after-the-event pacifists, socialists, and whiners that say Jason did not have a gun and try to blame the police officer of something, but they were not there.

Brodeur is a Fraud: Did the Vezina Voters Disrespect Brodeur?

Edward Meerwald, the drunk driver who killed a Neosho man and his eight-year-old granddaughter, has asked for the court to appoint an attorney for him so he can continue his efforts to get out of his seven-year prison sentence…even though Meerwald pleaded guilty to the crimes.According to McDonald County Circuit Court documents, Meerwald filed his request on Friday, close to four months after his last court-appointed attorney, Anne Wells, was given permission to withdraw from the case.Meerwald, 52, Noel, pleaded guilty March 8, 2005,to two counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the deaths of Jim Dodson, 68, and Jessica Mann, 8, but filed a motion to have his prison sentence set aside.Meerwald was drunk on July 30, 2004, when his car left Highway 86 and hit Mr. Dodson and Miss Mann as they were standing in Dodson’s driveway. The deaths led to a successful effort by Sen. Gary Nodler, R-Joplin, to pass a bill increasing sentences for drunk drivers convicted of involuntary manslaughter

The voice vote on the 54,000 was decisively in favor, and I voted Yes.Article 23 was the 55,000 borrowing authorization, with 75,000 being for Town Hall brick and mortar repairs, and 0,000 being for required accessibility upgrades to the East Street School. We’ll try not to worry too much about the threat of falling capstones before the repairs get made, but if you see Town staff wearing helmets as they enter and exit, you’ll know why.Much discussion about this article was about using CPAC historical preservation funds to pay for these repairs, and indeed a motion was made to refer the recommendation to CPAC for that purpose. This makes a little sense if you support referring the Town Hall part to CPAC, but as Kay Moran of the FinCom/JCPC pointed out, the article is a borrowing authorization, and if the big money for the Town Hall repairs are separated out, the cost of the East Street School repairs aren’t large enough on their own to be worth the borrowing expenses. Many made the point that referring the Town Hall part to CPAC would delay repairs further, resulting in more damage and higher repair costs, as well as the possibility of higher interest rates on borrowing next year if CPAC declines to fund this. Mr. Weiss agreed with the sentiment, but said that referring the article for that purpose was not necessary as that funding was already being pursued in parallel with this borrowing action, and I think that was the key point. After a multi-step voting process dealing with the divided motion and the related referrals, we ultimately rejected referring anything to CPAC and we approved the borrowing of 55K to cover both projects, and that is how I voted as well.Despite all this CPAC talk, it wasn’t until Article 24 that we actually were dealing with a CPAC article. that the 100% match might be reduced if those transfer fees are insufficient or if more communities adopt the Community Preservation Act, thus more widely spreading those matching funds.Mr. Weiss said the SB vote to support was unanimous and that they thought it was a good use of CPAC money.A member said he appreciated the sentiments of the article, but he vehemently opposed it for a variety of reasons: that it duplicated the efforts of other programs; Another member said that this was just one piece of the affordable housing pie and that it was good to be pursuing many different approaches. After another complicated series of votes (I don’t actually have a record in my notes about voting for the O’Connor motion. Who knows…) the motion to refer back to CPAC was defeated and I voted No, and the original motion passed and I voted Yes.This one was more interesting live than it was in my recap, which is probably true of everything. The amendment was resoundingly approved, with just a couple of Nos.With a little more discussion about other elements of the funding list, we voted nearly unanimously to appropriate 01,100 of CPAC money for historic preservation.Article 26 is the most straight-forward of all the CPAC articles – Don’t say I didn’t warn you.) Suffice it to say that the motion to refer it to the Community Development Committee passed decisively with only a handful of Nos, and I voted Yes.Article 30 is to appropriate to the stabilization fund those monies collected but not spent for FY08, in the wake of the successful tax override vote. For reasons I’m not sure of, we are appropriating 37,893, not the full 38K we’ve been discussing, but what’s 07 dollars after we’ve just dealt with more than 0 million? Before voting, we got a reprise of the lament about balancing the budget on the backs of our neediest citizens, as well as a plea to move the elections sooner so Town Meeting can start sooner (and with an additional appeal to make mighty Amherst the first to vote on the Regional School budget and not be at the mercy of our pipsqueak neighbors. Are we done yet?) I fear that Town Meeting expands to fill the time you give it, so adding extra time on the front end doesn’t seem too appealing to me.The vote to appropriate those funds from Free Cash to balance the budget was nearly unanimous, with, of course, a couple of Nos.So it’s after 10:00, and everyone expects to adjourn, but Mr. Weiss moved to consider Article 11, because it requires the attendance of the Planning Board, who can’t be here Wednesday, necessitating either taking this up without them, or coming back next Monday. Don’t anybody be getting any ideas now.) Anyway, Mr. Francis made the points that the Planning Board is deeply concerned about affordable housing in Amherst, and that the amendment would take away the ability to negotiate for the moderate income units, which is the level often described as workforce housing, something Amherst also wants and needs. Greeney spoke of the Select Board’s 4-1 recommendation to support referring the article to the Planning Board and the Housing Partnership/Fair Housing Committee, to return with an update or a better plan next spring.

Carey was a poor choice as a winner that year, and it is justifiable to claim that Brodeur should have beat him, but the best goalie in 1995-96 was Dominik Hasek, so it was not really an injustice to rank Brodeur third. In 1996-97, Brodeur had a great season, possibly his best ever (.927, 37 wins). This was repeated in the All-Star voting, where 47 out of 50 voters put Brodeur second on their ballots, while nearly a third of them left Belfour off their ballots entirely.Martin Brodeur was obviously developing a great reputation, and that was reinforced the next year based on his voting results against the legendary Patrick Roy. Roy received only one third place vote for the Vezina, while Brodeur was named on 11 ballots, including one first place vote.Brodeur: 2.29, .906, 39-21-10, 4 SO, 24.5 shots/gmPat Roy: 2.29, .917, 32-19-8, 5 SO, 27.5 shots/gmIn 1999-00, Brodeur again beat Roy in the voting, despite posting similar numbers (2.24 GAA and .910 save % compared to Roy’s 2.28 and .914) on a team that was better both offensively and defensively. The best New Jersey Devils team of the era was probably the 2000-01 version. Martin Brodeur got 7 first place votes and finished third in the vote totals, and in the All-Star voting he picked up 18 first-place votes and narrowly missed out on a Second Team nomination. In the Olympic year of 2001-02, Brodeur did not have a very good year, and Jose Theodore took home the Vezina. Once again there were several close comparables to Brodeur, including Curtis Joseph and Dafoe, and Brodeur received more votes than any of them.Perhaps the favouritism displayed towards Brodeur is best expressed by a comparison with Ed Belfour. As might be expected given these similarities, their performance statistics were very similar as well:Goalie stats (1997 to 2001):Brodeur: 284 GP, 167-75-37, 2.19, .910, .665 win %, 29 SOBelfour: 247 GP, 139-68-33, 2.08, .914, .648 win %, 26 SOIf either of them has a slight performance edge it’s probably Belfour, but the Vezina voters repeatedly sided with Brodeur, who received 124 voting points and 10 first place votes over those four seasons.

Logged on this morning on my wonderful 28 kbs line to find all sorts of comments on the blog. Bit of a shock after writing this quietly for a year or so. To answer some comments and questions: No, I’m not poor in the sense that many people throughout this world are poor. I’ve had my share of financial woes, which is a bit of an understatement, and on the whole if I’m going to be strapped for cash, I’d rather it be in a place where I’m not going to be cold and I know that I can eat for very little. I’ve seen the urban poor in New York, Toronto, and Los Angeles, and here in Egypt. On the whole, I suspect that it’s better to be poor outside of a city than inside one, particularly in a country with fresh fruits and vegetables in the fields 12 months of the year. Eat your heart out, northern temperate climates!Bashing North America: I’m not really. It just isn’t my cup of tea. I have family living happily in the US and it’s a great place to visit. I do have some concerns about the aspects of North American culture that get exported, but I’m not alone there.Copts: The Copts are one of the oldest, if not the actual oldest, group of Christians in the world. The Coptic church dates back to within a few centuries of the time of Christ and is a rich heritage in Egypt. On the whole, I would have to say that cries of persecution from Copts outside of Egypt are rather over-rated. We have both Copts and Muslims living in our area and no one could care less. The Suares family is a Coptic family and one of the wealthiest in Egypt, being the owners of Orascom, a huge conglomerate corporation with interests in telecommunication, construction, and tourism. I think that issue is one that provides people with a personal axe to grind some fun.Anti-American feeling: An interesting thing about Egyptians, and something that is likely true in many other countries, is that we discriminate between Americans and the American government. The US press often talk of anti-American sentiment as though it were being expressed towards the citizens of the country, when it is not. Egyptians have no illusions of control over their government, and in fact, never have had any control over it. They know that their government does all sorts of things that may or may not be good for the country and that may or may not be personally motivated. Sentiment here cuts across religious lines. No one is happy with the Bush administration’s forays into world domination. But any American tourist, businessman, student, whatever, is more than welcome in the country. Just not George W. Bush.Last spring I had a group of endurance riders come to visit, four women between the ages roughly of say 25 to 60 yrs old. They wandered around the neighbourhood on foot, chatted with watchmen at the neighbourhood pyramids, went horseback and camel riding, basically had a ball. They were fascinated by the international newspapers that were available in the grocery stores (like the Middle East Times which is available online) because they included a lot of news that somehow was never printed back home. And we talked about the difference between people and governments. Maybe all the discussion of the US government being chosen by the people has confused the issue in the US. Okay, you vote (or maybe don’t vote) for your representative in Congress, the Senate, your state, your president….but at the end of the day, any of these individuals can and will do whatever he bloody well wants to and you have no say over it unless you can find enough people to get rid of him after the fact. Americans are as much victims of their government as any one else is.Wanting to leave Egypt: Many of the people who leave Egypt return later. The fact is that university education abroad in many disciplines is preferrable to education locally. I met my late husband when he travelled to Canada to do graduate school, and his experience in business in Canada helped him to achieve his dreams here. My children both studied abroad; one is still studying in New York and comes home on holidays while the other returned to work for a while here before he continues with a graduate level degree. Will they live in Egypt all their lives? I don’t know and I don’t think that it matters. But they do say that there are many aspects of life that they truly miss when they are outside. My father was a world federalist. He believed that only a world government could handle the problems of the world and that the governments of countries were a disruptive force on humanity. Maybe he was right. I haven’t seen any governments at all, world or national, that I’ve been all that impressed by.Finally, women: Do a quick survey and you will find that virtually all of the power structures world wide these days are male-dominated. This means that anywhere you look you will see women with problems. The problems simply vary from place to place. I’d rather be an old woman in Egypt where old women are respected than an old woman in a place that is inundated with the culture of youth and beauty. We said wed grow old together, but we never said wrinkled” Get your botox injections here! Yes, women have issues everywhere, and so do men. Happily or unhappily, those issues are changing all over the world. In Egypt many women are refusing to marry if they feel that they arent getting a reasonable mate and the men are running about trying to figure out what the women want. There are always problems, but the sign of growth is that the problems change. Thanks for the fame, whoever.

When the country is striving hard for international recognition, where external investment is low, high underemployment and unemployment, instable economy, there are women, who contribute most for supporting countries economy through non-formal economy. It is hard to realize and admit for the planner, economists and policy makers that the bulk of economy and employment are being generated in the country through informal sectors. This sector not only creates job opportunities to millions of poor and unemployed but also flourishes national economy to a greater extent. Study says that in Africa itself informal economy accounted for almost 80% of non-agricultural employment, over sixty 60% of urban employment and over the 90% of new jobs over the past decade. The business is so rapid and fast growing sometimes it creates illusion that the Somaliland economy is moving with this. People should not be astonished if I say the women primarily control the informal economy in the Hargeisa city. Economists consider this economy does not contribute for national economy at macro level. Government does not recognise the economy so they do not protect and safe guard the economy. Many economists argue that the prime reason for non-acceptance by the government is because the economy does not directly contribute financially to the treasury of Government. The non-formal sector works under high degree of economic and social insecurity. Labour market security is non-existence because the government policy does not protect or provide economic or social guarantee. How to mainstream the informal economy:   In Somaliland context mainstreaming informal economy is like mainstreaming country’s economy. Government policy to protect the sector and economy and strengthening labour law.

The simple answer to this question is that in a modern age, and in a school like DeVry, we are alienated from each other by means of digital interaction. I am not sure I felt anything, I tried to keep it concise and simple. I am a simple person, leading a simple life.

I ordered a bear claw and a cup of orange juice.and….and….thats all i could squeeze out in a week!

Here are the responses of other ministry leaders and para-church organizations supporting the film:Kevin Palau / Luis Palau AssociationKevin thought the film was great and that it would be wonderful to promote it at the Luis Palau Festival. Kevin also said that as soon as he got back to his office, he was going to call a dozen other ministries and encourage them to support EVAN.Shaun Winn / Teen ManiaBefore he arrived in Los Angeles, Shaun was very unsure about how he might react to the film, and was fairly certain this would not be a film Teen Mania would get behind. The potential audience size of this partnership is 350,000 attendees nationwide and 1,000,000 people in email blasts.Joe Davis / Salem Radio NetworkJoe thought it was a delightful film. Salem Radio Network is the largest and most influential Christian radio network in the country.Dan Hardaway / Campus Crusade for ChristDan felt the film was spectacular and will be a force not only at the box office but, through ArkALMIGHTY, within the Christian community. Willow Creek Church in Chicago is a model for more than 10,000 churches nationwide, which comprise the Willow Creek Association.Kyle Bonenberger / Hour of PowerHe was greatly impressed with the overall film. They expect an attendance of 3,000 youth ministers for their annual conference.Ken Coleman / In JoyKen thought that the film had an excellent message, however, he would like ending to be tweaked to fit the ArkALMIGHTY campaign better. CT is the Time Magazine of the Christian world with a readership of 330,000.Kim Dorr / Bel Air Presbyterian ChurchBel Air, one of our Beta testing churches was already primed to like the film and they were not disappointed. Let’s begin with the basis. Why do you want to begin a business online? I’ll give you some reasons; more exactly I’ll give 10 reasons for starting a business online.
Let me be honest with you. I’d like to begin with the tools and methods and giving you some books and reports, but it’s a lot of information and I think it is better you learn from the beginning and understand why and how the methods work because on internet you will find tons of methods. You can choose the one you think is the best for you. I’ll try to present you every one I know.

So, let’s begin. :)

10 reasons for starting a home business online

1. You want to escape the rat race. You’d rather spend the 2 hours you waste every day with your family, or on a hobby. Running your own business online you can stop the commute, and you can feel good because you are helping to cut pollution too.
2. You can work part time building your new home business online until you see it taking off. You aren’t giving up your bill paying regular job to jump in without any income.
3. It’s possible to start a home business online with very little outlay. Webhosting is cheaper than a bricks and mortar shopfront. You already have the pc to access the net, it can start working for it’s keep.
4. You can choose your own hours. If you have an appointment to keep in the morning, start your online work in the afternoon. No one can tell you you cant have that week off in August, Bill got in first”
5. If you work harder you can benefit directly, you put more hours in and your online business makes more profit, your wages go up. Your salary isnt fixed by someone else

Serve with pasta, thinning with olive oil or pasta cooking water as needed.83 Pit and chop a cup or more of mixed olives. serve over grilled, broiled or sautéed chicken breasts, with corn tortillas.85 A winning sandwich: bresaola or prosciutto, arugula, Parmesan, marinated artichoke hearts, tomato.86 Smoked trout fillets served with lightly toasted almonds, shredded fennel, a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of lemon.87 Grated carrots topped with six-minute eggs (run under cold water until cool before peeling), olive oil and lemon juice.88 Cut the top off four big tomatoes; Cook in oil about three minutes a side and serve.96 A Roman classic: In lots of olive oil, lightly cook lots of slivered garlic, with six or so anchovy fillets and a dried hot chili or two. Cook over low heat, tossing, until pasta is tender and hot.98 Rub flank steak or chuck with curry or chili powder before broiling or grilling, then slice thin across the grain.99 Cook a couple of pounds of shrimp, shell on or off, in oil, with lots of chopped garlic.

Designer Jeff Ng accidentally started Staple Clothing in ’97 when he and a friend would sneak into the silk screening lab at Parsons School of Design and print up a couple t-shirts.

It just struck me that it’s better to cry and worry less..which leaves more time to be happy and enjoy life.Though I cry very often, I want to be able to stop my habit and break out of it.

Just Because

Array I get the additional packages on TV to watch the games, I plan which night I teach depending on the game schedule. Often I will start watching a game in my chair, end up on the edge of the chair, move over to the end of the couch, move to the closer end of it by the TV, standing up in the middle of the floor, squatting by the TV, and then on my knees in front of it as if praying that the basketball gods help them to win. I obviously don’t remember the ‘82 game with Michael Jordan, but I clearly remember watching the ‘93 game. To be able to say that I was there for the 2005 national championship when Roy Williams (UNC’s excellent coach who has never won a national championship) won his first- that is something you tell you grandkids about…

The roots of a dignified society spring forth from the womb of the woman in Hijaab, who commands everyone’s respect. The lack of understanding Islam or the deliberate refusal to do so by the west and those who ape the western culture, will never accept that the fact that when a woman covers herself in the true spirit of Islam that is a supreme act of sacrifice as well as satisfaction of pleasing none but Allah. It is really impossible for them to understand that while a woman in Hijaab physically closes herself to the world, she opens to herself the Gates of Paradise. The commercial exploitation of women in the form of models and advertisements, even upto the level of complete nakedness shows that if there is no proper dress code for a woman she becomes an article valued in money. In contrast the woman in Hijaab becomes a symbol of female dignity and purity. If every woman adheres to the spiritual and physical concept of Hijaab and every man accepts this divine decree, the world would definitely be a better place to live in.

Coming home from work exhausted, and flopping in front of the TV, eating all day - muffins, coke, hot chocolates, full heavy lunches like lasagna and chips, chicken parma and chips - you get the idea! With never having to worry about food, I’d never really thought or educated myself about healthy eating - I really didn’t realise how much bad food I was suddenly pouring into my body, and the effects that poor diet was having - no energy, poor sleep, bad skin etc.The stress was another thing - all my self confidence issues came to for once I entered a professional career - having to speak in meetings (I stammered most of my childhood, and had made an art out of being quiet), meeting deadlines, appraisals etc - I was soon comfort eating.Within a few years, my weight had raced up to 90 kilos - I was a size 18! I was wearing one of Dads shirts, because nothing I owned fitted me (he’s 6.2, I’m 5.4 - I looked ridiculous!), and I was holding a drink when this photo was taken side-on - I had my forearm resting on belly - it was that big, I was using it for a prop! The food control is fantastic this time around, and I’m really pleased with myself.Considering how much money I have spent and wasted on gym memberships that I never use, WW programs, shakes, self help books etc over the last 5 years, this time around is actually proving very cheap! The reason for failure before is all mental – I’ve got diaries of plans to lose weight that I started and never finished, letters to myself, self help books I never finished reading – but this time feels so good.
